Fisheries: An
estimated total catch of 9,800 metric tons (MT)(1987). The major species caught
are oceanic pelagics (flying fish, dolphin, waho, billfish, sharks and tuna).
Oil and Gas: All oil
comes from land-based drilling and reserves at the end of 1987 were
estimated at 3.24 million barrels.
Maritime Transport & Harbors:
Bridgetown is the only seaport.
Tourism: The west
and south coasts are extensively developed with hotels, apartments,
restaurants and other tourist-oriented facilities. In 1987, 650.540 visitors were
recorded. This contributed Bds $ 270 million to the 1987 Gross Domestic Product.
Since 1960īs tourism has earned more foreign revenue than sugar products.
